What equipment you need for an outdoor wedding
A zone-by-zone list, from the ceremony to the bar, with rough quantities per guest — so nothing is missed and nothing is over-hired.
The ceremony
One chair per guest plus 5 % spare for unexpected plus-ones. For a formal look, Chiavari chairs in white, gold or transparent; for a modern wedding, Zeta or Miura.

The cocktail hour
Guests are standing, so you need cocktail tables rather than chairs — one per 8–10 guests. At the bar: champagne buckets for the bottles and ice buckets with tongs. Champagne glasses — one per guest plus 10 %, because glasses get set down and replaced.

Dinner
Tables and chairs at one seat per guest. Three kinds of plate — main, starter and dessert — one per guest plus 10 % spare. A cutlery set for every course. Glasses: water, wine (one or two if you serve both white and red) and champagne for the toast.

The bar
An illuminated bar — straight or corner — is the centre of an outdoor evening: after sunset it and the illuminated furniture replace part of the lighting. For a more relaxed style, add a draught beer machine on a cart.

The catering kitchen
Bain-maries for hot dishes, a hot cabinet, thermo boxes for transport and a refrigerated display for desserts and drinks. If cooking on site — a combi oven; check the power supply in advance, as it is three-phase (32 A).

Heating for the evening
Even in summer it gets cold outdoors after midnight. A gas mushroom or pyramid heater — one per 15–20 guests — works without electricity. For a covered area with power, an infrared heater also works.
